Site for mom

This little space of the internet is a place for Caroline Valencia Dalisay, my mother, to call her own.

The gift that keeps on giving

Christmas is happening a little early this year at the Dalisay household. David and Erin a week or so before the actual Christmas day, so we’ll be celebrating Sunday, 12/19/2021. This year, as per David’s proposal, we will be doing a Secret Santa drawing. I had the lucky draw in getting my mom, and, in addition to the gift cards she is requesting on her wish list, I thought I would give her something she’s been asking about for years now, her own website.

A start of something

Caroline has always paced through life, putting both God and her family before herself. She pushed three kids through Catholic private school, got them all through college, and has since watched them become respectable adults out in the real world. No longer needing to be a doting mother, Caroline (as her son, I would like to point out that I feel weird typing her name out as I just call her mom) has found her way towards passions that are strictly her own.

In the world of creative writing, my mom has really flourished. She finds creative ways to express herself, and put down on paper stories that are reflective of her experiences. She challenges herself to find new styles of writing. I’m hoping this blog will allow her another outlet to release her creative energies. Perhaps be a journal of some kind for thoughts, short writings, and anything she wants to fill the space with

More recently Caroline has found another passion, collecting and setting up displays for her miniatures. There is no greater joy than to see my mom in her element and watching her utilize her creativity in a different way is inspiring and uplifting to say the least. I’m hoping this blog could continue with the theme of being a creative’s outlet, and allow my mom to capture a snapshot of her passions and hobbies, so as to look back on the memories fondly and share them with her friends and family.

Procrastination

A website for my mom is something my brother and I have been trying to find the time to do for years. I think my mom first approached us with the idea a few years back, but we have always pushed the idea to the side, admittedly for no reason other than laziness. Sorry that it’s late mom, but here it finally is! It only took me pulling your name from the secret santa list to do it!

Love your son,

Pey
