Caroline is a phenomenal creative writer, often layering in her experiences being a child of immigration. As a woman of God, her short stories carry spiritual tones and provide inspiration and light where it can sometimes be difficult to find. Apart from writing, her hobbies include tending to her garden and collecting miniatures to display on dioramas.

Thank you especially to Caroline Valencia-Dalisay for writing “Excess Baggage”… her characters were lovable, believable and unforgettable. Finally, a story, I could relate to! She made me laugh and cry and left me wanting to match Lucky’s spunk and spirit. I am hoping to read more of such stories!

I read “Excess Baggage” by Caroline Valencia-Dalisay a couple of months ago and I am still thinking about it. The characters and the story just ring true. I would love to have India as a friend or daughter–she is intelligent and witty with just a dash of mischievousness. The story is heart-felt and humorous–just a wonderful piece of writing. I look forward to reading more from this up and coming new author!
